Dan Leatherman of Key West Casual Weddings specializes in simple, stress-free casual weddings and has performed ceremonies all over Key West including in the water, on boats, at the beach, the top of the Lighthouse, Mallory Square, Martello Towers, Butterfly Conservatory, Bahia Honda, Fort Zach., Sombrero Beach and many more.

Dan is a Notary and Photographer. After performing the ceremony, he will photograph you and your wedding party using 5d mark II / 21 mega pixel for digital photos.

You can easily obtain your marriage license at the Monroe County Court House. If you are a Florida resident, there is a three day waiting period including weekends. For more information on Marriage Licenses, please click here.

I would like a beach wedding and/or a sunset wedding, is that possible?
Yes, Key West has several beach locations where weddings may take place featuring beautiful sunrises or sunsets along with the turquoise waters of the Florida Keys.

Do we need witnesses?
No, Florida does not legally require them so they are welcomed but not necessary.

Can I write my own vows?
Yes, I do have a format in which the wedding ceremony is presented and will be happy to send you the vows we use so you can always personalized them in any way the Bride and Groom choose. You may include singers, live music, readings by family and/or friends.

I would like a wedding on a boat, is that possible?
Yes, I can provide excellent recommendations for some of the many fine boats we have in Key West.

What are your fees?
• The basic cost for officiating, vow renewal, or commitment ceremony is $150.00; photography (60 plus photos, edited and transferred to a personalized CD) starts at$250.00. To reserve your day, you can pay in full using your credit card or pay a small deposit and the balance in cash or check the day of the ceremony. Just use the Pay Pal feature located on the right of this page. If there is anything that you would like that I have not mentioned, just ask and I will be more than happy to accommodate you.

What is your cancellation policy?
You may cancel at anytime for any reason and receive a full refund less 30% of the total price.

Do I own the photos?
Yes, you have full ownership of the photos, you can make as many copies as you like.  However, Key West Casual Weddings reserves the right to freely use any photographs taken in promotional advertising.

If you are looking to get married in Key West I would recommend you look no further than Dan Leatherman. I spent an endless amount of hours searching online trying to find someone to perform our wedding. I wanted to make sure that we were able to have a ceremony that was unique and personal and did not feel so manufactured.

I came across Dan’s website and was immediately intrigued. I loved the flexibility he offered that allowed us to personalize our ceremony and I loved his photography. His photos were so unique and natural. I checked with my hotel and they also recommended Dan so I decided to make the call. I knew immediately upon speaking with Dan that I had made the right choice. He was professional and organized but most importantly his warm personality put me right at ease.

Not being familiar with where to have our ceremony we took Dan’s suggestions and were not disappointed. Dan performed an absolutely beautiful ceremony that touched us both. He was so easy going and allowed us to have fun. Even more amazing he had our photos ready the next day! I could not have been more thrilled with them, not one bad picture in the whole bunch. He captured every moment I can’t stop smiling every time we look at them. We truly enjoyed meeting and getting to know Dan. I cannot say enough good things about him. He helped us make our wedding day exactly what it was supposed to be one the best day of our lives. The whole experience was nothing less than perfect!

Dan is a very friendly person and a wonderful photographer. His services were recommended to us by a person involved in preparation of our wedding ceremony. He is very reliable and easy to contact, he checks his email regularly and responds quickly. He is flexible in organzing the details (time and place of meeting/ceremony, locations of photo sessions).

We also found out he came to see the property where we were getting married even before we arrived. Dan made us relaxed the minute we met. There was no pressure or judgment. He had excellent suggestions how to pose but forced nothing on us, left decisions to us and accepted our wishes.

We are very satisfied with the pictures. They are modern and have aritistic touch. Dan's presence at at our wedding was a very nice part of the whole experience.

Our wedding at Smathers Beach was a dream come true. Simple and sweet — just the way we wanted it! Dan was wonderful, making us feel extremely comfortable from the start and finishing it all by arranging a fairytale dinner at Latitudes immediately following our ceremony.
